Propeller Group started with two simple observations:

Propeller is an environmental entrepreneur, developing holistic real estate projects that positively impact a broad spectrum of intertwined “environments”:

- the natural environment expressed through green design and
- the social environment expressed through fostering cultural and community aspirations.
Propeller is a social entrepreneur merging the broad-based mission of a community development with the bottom line discipline of a profit-driven enterprise.
In particular, Propeller Group seeks to facilitate strategic partnerships between arts, non-profit and/or community groups and for-profit investors in order to create maximum value for all involved and long-term assets for the surrounding community and the environment.
Propeller has focused a great deal of attention upon the development of space for cultural production—arts, music, design, dance, theater, film—because the real estate market often overlooks or exploits the arts without providing sufficiently generous accommodation for nurturing creative enterprises that enrich surrounding communities in innumerable ways.
Propeller Group projects start with ideas grown out of discussions with strategic partners. We look for ideas that enhance the communities in which we build or that fulfill some overriding social principle, such as “green” building.
Propeller Group assembles a specialized group of partners—professionals and investors—to best realize the ideas in each individual project. Yet each Propeller Group project is guaranteed a strong consistency being led by its founder, Derek Denckla.
